At least 12 dwelling houses including ward Awami league office of North Kattali were gutted with devastating fire occurred on Friday night at about 3 am . In the fire properties worth about Tk.8 lakh were gutted , fire brigade sources said. Asstt. Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Ctg Jasimuddin told that the fire originated from electric short circuit at about 3 am and sensing the news of fire, 2 fire mobile unit rushed to the spot and doused the inferno after two hours of hectic efforts. In the fire, 5 semi pucca, one pucca and 6 kutcha houses were gutted including the AL office in Kolonel Hat , sources said.
BSS from Chittagong adds: Seven dwelling houses were gutted in a devastating fire at Rampura area under Halishahor thana in the city in the early hours of Friday.
Fire Brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at about 2 am last night and fire fighters with the help of local people brought it under control at about 3 am early today.
Fire brigade and local people said properties worth about Taka six lakh were gutted while Fire Brigade officials rescued valuables worth about Taka 10 lakh.
