At least 183 tin-shed houses were burnt in a fire that broke out in the Gazipur City Corporation’s workers colony on Thursday.
On information, five firefighting units from Savar EPZ and Kaliakoir rushed to the scene and doused the fire for about two hours of frantic efforts.
The fire broke out at one Anwara Begum’s house
and engulfed the neighboring houses, EPZ Fire Service Station Officer Md Abdul Hamid told media.
The fire might have originated from an electric short circuit, he added.
