18 rivers marked rise, 64 fall

Water levels in 18 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 64 stations recorded fall. Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at two monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Thursday.
The Lakhya at Lakhpur and the Kushiyara at Sherpur-Sylhet are flowing above their respective danger levels by 19 cm and 4 cm.
All major rivers are in falling trend, the FFWC bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Thursday.
A total of 78 mm rainfall were recorded at Panchagarh, 102.7 mm at Dinajpur, 54 mm at Kurigram, 65.7 mm at Kushtia and 47 mm at Kaunia.
