Six players shared the top position in the First Holiday Open FIDE Standard Rating Chess competition with two points now being held at Maleka Banu Adarsha Bidyaniketon, said a press release.
They are M Sagor of Bangladesh Navy, Abdul Momin of Sonali Bank, Giasuddin Mithun of Access Chess Club, Moidur Rahman Moudud of Uttara Central Chess Club Academy, Babul Islam and Avijit Borua of Uttara Central Chess Club Academy.
In the second round matches held on Sunday, Sagar beat Shamsul Alam, Momin defeated Nesar Uddin, Mithu outplayed Murad Hossain, Moudud outclassed Abul Kashem Al Shahid, Babul beat Goalm Sarowar and Avijit defeated Mehedi Hasan.
The third and fourth round matches will be held today (Tuesday) at the same venue.
