29 infected in last 24 hours: 177 dengue patients in hospitals

Staff Reporter:About 177 dengue patients are taking medical treatment in hospitals across the country now.
Among them, 120 patients are taking treatment in the capital’s hospitals and rest 57 is admitted in the hospitals out sides of Dhaka.
Among them, 29 patients were newly infected by the fever in last 24 hours since Thursday.
Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that 16 patients were admitted in the capital’s hospitals and rest 13 patients were admitted in hospitals out side of Dhaka.
Dr. Ayesha Akhter, Assistant Director of Control Room said that about 22 patients have left hospitals in last 24 hours from Dhaka and out sides’ hospitals.
She said that the dengue patients have been decreased by 9.4 percent from previous 24 hours.
The control room sources said about one lakh and 1174 patients were hospitalised after infecting dengue fever.
According to DGHS total 141 dengue patients have died so far this year.
According to a report of the DGHS received Thursday, the deaths included two in April, six in June, 35 in July, 82 in August, 13 in September and three in October.
From December 1 to 18, according to the figure reported by the DGHS under the Ministry of Health, 1,083 more dengue cases were recorded after 4,011 in November, 8,143 in October, 16,856 in September and 52,636 in August, which were more than the total number of patients in any past year.
