162 political party leaders of Rangpur Divn pledge to win with peace

Some 162 political leaders from Bangladesh Awami League (AL), Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jatiyo Party (JP) RangpurDivision came on one platform in Rangpur recently to pledge for nonviolent and peaceful elections.
The atmosphere was festive at the regional launch of the Shantite Bijoy (Win with Peace) campaign with enthusiastic participation by the political leaders of Rangpur Division. The program was held at VI Seasons Convention Centre in Rangpur city recently. At the launch, political leaders of Awami League, BNP and Jatiyo Party of Rangpur Divisionstood together in support of peace and harmony, and together vowed against violence.
Rangpur City BNP President Md. Mozaffor Hossain; City AL Vice President Shah Nabi Ullah Panna, City AL General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, City BNP General Secretary Shohidul Islam Miju, Rangpur District Jatiyo Party Joint Secretary AbdurRajjakand Jatiyo Party City Committee Joint Secretary Md. LokmanHossain spoke at the event. Shohidul Islam Miju said, ` We should open our insight, become ethical. We should develop humane quality in ourselves. If everyone’s right isensured, then peace will win. We are hopeful for fair elections. We should play vital role to promote peaceful elections.’
Tushar Kanti Mandal said, ` We want peace, few people create violence. We have to stand against them, then peace will win.’ Rangpur City BNP President said called for developing brotherhood and unity among the political parties. Rangpur District JP Joint Secretary said, `Our political parties should come forward to promote peace. We should work together to win with peace.’
Additionally, different political leaders, civil society members of Rangpur, DI political fellows, cultural activists and journalists were present at the event.
With the national elections approaching, the Win with Peace campaign will engage and raise awareness among registered political parties, candidates, and citizens in Bangladesh on the importance of peaceful elections and tolerant politics. The campaign is providing the 16-crore people of Bangladesh with a platform to raise their voice to demand peace, harmony, and tolerant politics. The campaign is bringing together political leaders and citizens of Bangladesh in peace rallies, face to face dialogues with candidates, round table meetings, and workshops across Bangladesh.
