15 BCL men hurt in KUET infighting

At least 15 activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) unit, were injured in factional clashes over establishing supremacy on the campus on Saturday night.
The injured students were taken to different medical clinics of Khulna for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the BCL, KUET unit are divided into two groups led by its President Safayet Hossain Nayan and General Secretary Ali Imtiaz Sohan. They have been trying to control the university by occupying seats and showing their muscle power on the university campus.
On Saturday night, the followers of Ali Imtiaz Sohan went to occupy Room Nos 101 and 103 of Lalon Shah Hall. The supporters of Safayet Hossain Nayan protested and locked into clashes.
They also vandalized the furniture of the hall and looted valuables from the rooms.  
At least 15 students were injured in the incident. They were admitted to different medical centers of Khulna.
Ali Imtiaz Sohan allegedly beat up some supporters of its president at Lalon Shah Hall , triggering a clash early Saturday .
Meanwhile, the university authorities formed a three-member probe body, headed by Mechanical Engineering Department Professor Mihir Ranjan Haldar, to look into the matter.
BCL President Safayet Hossain Nayan demanded administrative and orgnisational action against the attackers.
Besides, Ali Imtiaz Sohan, BCL General Secretary, said the clash took place between two factions of BCL over a trifling matter.
