129 DU students, two teachers get Dean’s Award

The Faculty of Arts of Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday awarded its 129 meritorious students and two teachers with prestigious ‘Dean’s Award’ for their brilliant performance.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over the awards among the recipients as the chief guest at a function held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium on the campus.
Presided over by Dean of the Arts Faculty Prof Dr Md Delwar Hossain, the function was addressed by renowned educationist Professor Monzoorul Islam as the keynote speaker.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad addressed it as the special guest.
Professor of Department of Persian Language and Literature Dr Md Abul Kalam Sarker and Professor of History department Dr. Aksadul Alam conferred
“Dean’s Merit Award for Teacher’s” for their best research monographs.
Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the meritorious students for winning the award and urged them to play due roles in making the country more prosperous.
Professor Monzoorul Islam said students must have humanitarian qualities,
moral values, honesty, sincerity and dedication as these qualities will help
them prosper in life
