102 policemen die of Covid-19

Members of the Bangladesh Police have been working on the field level as frontline fighters since the onset of the coronavirus outbreak in the country. So far, 102 cops have died of the virus. The information was obtained from the police headquarters.
According to the police headquarters, coronavirus cases were first detected in the police force in April 2020. As of last Thursday, 23,209 members of the force have been infected with Corona. Of them, 3,607 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) while 2,957 are from RAB.
So far, 21,831 police personnel have been cured of corona across the country, according to the police headquarters. Till Thursday, 1,378 policemen were undergoing treatment in different hospitals of the country. Two of them died between midnight on Thursday and noon on Friday. A total of 102 policemen have lost their lives to Corona. Among the dead, one Superintendent of Police (SP), 2 Additional Superintendents of Police (ASP), 13 Inspectors, 16
Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 8 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), 1 Naik, 52 Constables, 3 Civil Staff and 6 RABs.
Bangladesh reported first Coivd-19 deaths on March 18, 2020. As of Saturday (July 17, 2021), 17,669 people died of the virus in the country.
