Another dies from coronavirus in Thakurgaon

Another coronavirus patient died in Thakurgaon on Monday, taking the death toll in the district to seven.
The 42-year-old man, a resident of Hajipara area of the district town, died on July 31 while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital with coronavirus symptoms.
Later, his result came out positive on August 3, said Civil Surgeon Mahfuzar Rahman. Besides, 14 more patients tested positive, raising the total cases to 427 in the district. Among them, 249 patients have recovered.
Meanwhile, 39 more sample have been sent to Dinajpur Medical for test, the local health officials said.
The death tally from coronavirus in Bangladesh rose to 3,184 on Monday as 30 more patients died of the virus. On the day, the health authorities announced detection of 1,356 new cases. Currently, Bangladesh’s officially confirmed coronavirus cases stands at 2,42,102.

8 injured over mobile recharge clash in Brahmanbaria

At least eight people, including two women, were injured in a clash at Paschimpara Walishah Mazar area in Nabinagar municipality on Monday afternoon over a trifling matter.
According to locals, one Apurba had an altercation with a shop owner Kawser, when he came to recharge his mobile at the shop.
Following the altercation, a clash ensued among the supporters of duo, leaving the eight people injured.
The injured are – Mamun Miah, Mofiz Miah, Mintu Miah, Apurba, Md Kawser, Md Arif and two other women. They were taken to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex. Md Ruhul Amin, inspector (Investigation) of Nabinagar Police Station, said they have visited the spot.

Balloon vendor killed in Rajshahi gas cylinder blast

A balloon vendor was killed and two others were injured after a gas cylinder exploded at Madhupur village in Charghat upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Muktar Hossain, 42,of the village. The injured were identified as Zaheda Begum, 50, a relative of the deceased and Hamim Hossain, 1, nephew of Muktar.
The incident took place around 8am when the gas cylinder went off while filling gas in balloons, leaving Muktar dead on the spot and two injured, said Samit Kumar Kunda, officer-in-charge of Charghat Police Station. The injured were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Doctor dies of Covid-19 in Chattogram

An assistant professor of Chattogram Medical College died of Covid-19 at Chattogram Medical College Hospital on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Dr Nazrul Islam Chowdhury Taslim of Orthopedic Surgery Department.
Dr Nazrul breathed his last around 10:30pm at CMCH, said Deputy Director of Chattogram Medical College Aftabul Islam.
He had been undergoing treatment at the hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus.
Besides, he has been suffering from different diseases including cancer.
Dr Nazrul was the student of the 21stbatch of Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
He was buried at his family grave yard in Chatkhil of Noakhali following two namaz-e-janazas after Zohr prayer.
According to sources of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), a total of12physicians have died from Covid-19 and Covid-19 like symptoms while 300 doctors infected with the virus in the district.
