10 killed in roads crashes

At least 10 people were killed in separate road accidents in Pabna, Jessore, Tangail and Dinajpur districts on Wednesday, police and local sources said.
In Pabna, at least six persons were killed when a Dhaka-bound garlic-laden speedy truck crushed into a three-wheeler human-hauler (Nasimon) on the Pabna-Nagarbari highway in Kashinathpur area under Sujanagar upazila of the district in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Matin, 60, his sister-in-law Champa Akter, 45, and Champa’s son Rana, 12, Runa 18, Banna, 16, and Ahsan Muhuri. All the victims were from Ahmedpur village in Sujanagar upazila of the district, police said.
Quoting the locals, Mirajuddin Ahmed, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Pabna, said that a Dhaka-bound truck crushed into the human-hauler in Ahmadpur area around 9:00am, leaving three passengers of the Nasimon dead on the spot and four others injured.
The injured persons were rushed to two local hospitals, the police official said. Later, three others succumbed to their injuries in the hospitals, the SP said.
