The Coast Guard seized 10 crore pieces of shrimp fry from Chattogram’s Lalkhan Bazar on Thursday evening.
Four mini trucks, transporting the shrimp fry in drums, were also seized. But the smugglers could not be arrested.
The Coast Guards stopped four mini trucks on the Lalkhan Bazar flyover around 6:30pm acting on a tip-off, sources at Coast Guard Headquarters said.
They found the drums containing the shrimp fry.
Later, the seized shrimp fry was released in Karnaphuli River following the instruction from the concerned authority.
