1 held with 28 gold bars at Ctg airport

One day after seizure of 76 gold bars from two vacuum cleaners of two passengers, customs officials arrested a man along with 28 gold bars weighing 3.265 kg at Shah Amanat International Airport here on Thursday. The arrested was identified as M Nizam Uddin, 30, a resident of Raojan upazila of the district.
Mashiur Rahman Mandal, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Airport Customs authority, said Nizam, who had returned from Dubai by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on June 30, went to the airport yesterday (Thursday) morning to receive his luggage, which reached the airport later.
Customs officials searched the luggage while scanning it and recovered the gold bars worth Tk 1.40 crore inside an IPS (Instant power supply) contained in the luggage while he was going out from the airport.
Later, they detained him along with the gold.
