1.40 lakh yaba pills seized, one held

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered 1.40 lakh pieces of Yaba tablet in new Jetty Ghat area of Teknaf upazila on Saturday.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-42 challenged a boat from Myanmar carrying smugglers while crossing the Naf river in the area near the residence of MP Abdur Rahman Bodi of Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency around 8:30 am, said Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jar Al Zahid, commanding officer of BGB-42.
Sensing the presence of the BGB team, the smugglers managed to flee, leaving behind the Yaba tablets, kept in three packets. Later the BGB team recovered 1.40 lakh Yaba pills from the three packets worth Tk 4.20 crore.
Another reports adds: Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP)) in a raid arrested a drug peddler with 310 pieces of Yaba tablets from Shah Amanat Bridge area under Bakalia thana in the port city early hours of yesterday.
The arrested was identified as Nure Alam,50, son of Abdus Sukkur hailed from Teqnaf Upazila of Cox’s bazar district.
On secret information, a team of police raided a passenger bus at Shah Amanat bridge area under Bakalia thana in the port city at 5 am today and arrested him with the Yaba, Mohammad Mohsin, Officer in Charge of Bakalia thana police said.
