A high official of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) claimed that they had unveiled the clue of the mysterious drowning death of O-level (Ordinary Level) student Zubair Ahmed. He was molested and murdered by his mentor and trainer Abu Ubaid Kadir, hailing from Algeria as Zubair refused to surrender to Kadir’s evil desire .
The DB man on Monday also said that Ismail Hossain, a friend of Zubair and the key suspect in the killing, confessed it in the remand.
The court granted two-day remand on Saturday to interrogate the accused.
Md Iqbal Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Uttara police said, “The police seized mobile phone of Kadir and found text messages in obnoxious language.”
Uttara East Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) and investigating officer of the case Sheikh Rassel Kabir said that police were looking into the incident. DB Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sheikh Nazmul Alam told a press briefing at Media Centre on Minto Road in the city on Sunday that a special team of police arrested Ismail and Kadir from Uttara on Friday afternoon and Saturday respectively.
Zubair’s mother Dilara Begum registered a case with the Uttara East Police Station over the incident, he said.
Earlier, police recovered the body of Zubair from a pond at Uttara Section-4 on October 5.
