Zohra Begum (60), a resident of Cox’s Bazar Kalatali area protested the threats by the miscreants of Aklas Bahini at a press meet arranged at Chittagong Press Club on February 23 . She alleged that members of Aklas Bahini viz Army Sayeed, Farid Alam, Shamsu Alam, Badsha Maji, Monia, Syedullah , Jamaluddin, Motin Doctor, Abu Taher, Md. Farid, Majul Hoque etc. are continuously threatening to her elderly husband Fazlul Hoque (72) and her sons with ill motives of occupying their land properties and centring the sale of land properties of the complaint. She said in her written statement that these Aklas Bahini gang could not tolerate their happy livelihood of Zohra’s family. Ms. Lakhi Akhter , daughter in-law of Zohra Begum read out the written statement before the journalists. The press meet was told that these Aklas gang are deeply conspiring to grab their land properties and frequently threatening to entangle her sons with the yaba trafficking case with the help of law enforcers. Zohra told the newsmen that these above mentioned Aklas gang are trying to damage their long achieved image with ill motives. Zohra Begum told that they are law abiding citizens of the country. Her first son now residing in Saudi Arabia and second, younger sons are now in Cox’s Bazar dealing with trading business. Mentionable that RAB forces seized about 10 lakh yabas from the estuary of Bay of Bengal on January 6 last alongwith a fishing boat. Four boatmen also rounded up from the boat. The detained boatmen are Abdus Salam(55), Md. Shafiq, Md. Abdur Rahim Burma, Md. Kamal Burma. As per their confession, RAB forces also arrested four persons including boat owner Syed Alam(45) from Coxsbazar area. After quizzing the arrested persons allegedly involved with the Yaba trafficking and manpower trafficking , the real culprits will be detected, the press meet was told. She urges the law enforcing agencies to identify the vested quarters who are conspiring against them and exemplary punishment. In the meantime, these Aklas Bahini members became millionaire through extorting in Coxsbazar area . Family members of Zohra’s family now passing days with fear and insecurity by threats of Aklas Bahini gang, the press meet was told.
