CPC leader Zheng Ziaosong meets Khaleda

A Chinese delegation, led by Zheng Ziaosong, Vice-Minister of International Department of Communist Party of China (CPC) central committee, met BNP chairperson Khaleda on Saturday evening.
The 50-minute meeting that began around 5:30pm was held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office.
The other Chinese delegation members include Yuan Zahibin, director general, International Department of CPC central committee and deputy directors, International Department of CPC central committee Jia Pang and Cao Zhigang.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mahbubur Rahman and chairperson’s advisers Reaz Rahm and Sabihuddin Ahmed were present.
However, there was no briefing from either side about the meeting.
Contacted, Mahbubur Rahman said it was a courtesy call as the Chinese delegation came to Bangladesh to join Awami League’s council.
He said, they discussed various issues relating to bilateral interests, development activities and Bangladesh’s latest political situation. Mentioning that BNP has a good tie with the CPC, he said they also discussed as to how this relation can be strengthened further. Earlier in the morning, the CPC leaders attended Awami League’s 20th national council at Suhrawardy Udyan.
