Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said the Zionists are exploiting the militants against Islam.
“The Zionists have created militants using the name of Islam,” he said this on Friday while speaking as the chief guest at an anti-militancy rally of Ulama-Mashayekh (Islamic scholars) at Motijheel Waqfa Estate Mosque in the city.
Liberation War Affairs Minister Mozammel Huq addressed the rally as special guest.
Sholakia Eidgah Imam Allama Farid Uddin Masud, Dhaka City Awami League Advisory Council Member Mainul Islam Maina and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote General Secretary Arun Sarkar Rana also spoke on the occasion.
Motijheel Waqfa Estate Mosque Committee President Kazi Masud Ahmed presided over the programme.
Shajahan Khan condemned the killing of innocent people using the name of Islam and said there is no relation between Islam and militancy.”There is no room for militants in Islam. It is our obligatory duty to protect Islam,” he said.
Shajahan Khan said all countries in the world are now united against militancy and terrorism.
Mozammel Huq said the emergence of militancy has taken place with financing and other cooperation of the Zionists.
