Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh retained the joint second position after the seventh round games of the 8th KIIT International Chess Festival 2015 Elite Category at state capital city Bhubaneswar of Odisha, Indian on Thursday.
Ziaur, who is a Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd player, earned five points from 7th round to share the second position in the points table with nine other players.
Another Grandmaster M Abdullah Al-Rakib of Bangladesh Navy earned 4.5 points after seventh round to share third place with 19 other players while his teammate Grqndmaster Enamul Hossain earned 4 points and Syed Mahfuzur Rahman of Janata Bank earned 3.5 points.
In seventh round, Zia played draw against Visakh Nr of India, Rakib drew with Vignesh Nr of India, Mahfuz drew with Gurung Rakesh, Enamul conceded defeate against GM Karthikeyan Murali of India.
