Zia never fought in the Liberation War : Mosharraf

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharaf Hossain MP said, “Ziaur Rahman never fought in the Liberation War of 1971. He always stayed behind to save himself.”
Addressing the rally of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong North District Committee held at Chittagong Zila Parishad Hall Thursday evening as the Chief Guest.
 Mosharaf also said, “As a Sub Sector Commander of liberation war in 1971, I observed that Ziaur Rahman always tried to save himself from war. He was engaged in conspiracy during the liberation war.”
Mentioning the late President Ziaur Rahman as an opportunist, Awami League leader Engineer Mosharaf said, “Ziaur Rahman was also involved in the brutal killing of August 15 in 1975.”
 The rally was arranged to observe the National Mourning Day by the BCL Chittagong North District Committee and chaired by its president Boktiar Sayed Iran.
Among others, Chairman of Chittagong Zila Parishad and General Secretary of Awami League Chittagong North District Committee MA Salam, Joint Secretary Younus Goni Chowdhury, Jashim Uddin Shah, Bedarul Islam Bedar and Shah Newaj Chowdhury addressed the rally as special guests. The rally was moderated by the General Secretary of BCL Chittagong North District Committee abu Tayeb.
