UNB, Sylhet :
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque on Saturday warned that they will show zero tolerance to those police members who commit crimes. “All are equal in the eyes of law. If anyone commits crimes, he must face punishment…no mercy for them,” said the IGP while talking to reporters after attending a seminar organised by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) in Sylhet.
He also said, they have suspended those policemen whose involvement in some recent crimes has been found primarily. “We’ve also formed probe committees…when allegations brought against them have been proved right, we filed departmental cases against them,” the IGP added. “If any police member is found involved in any criminal offence, then a criminal case will be filed against them. We never show mercy to any police member as they’re not above the country’s law,” he told the journalists.
