Zamir Uddin Parvez, who is dedicated to public welfare politics, has been nominated for the post of Raozan poura mayor at a meeting of the Local Government Public Representative Nomination Board.
He was nominated at a board meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban yesterday at 11am. Besides, Gias Uddin in Mirsarai, Mohammad Rezaul Karim in Bariarhat and Shahjahan Sikder in Rangunia are among the nominated mayoral candidates of 8 pourasavas of Chattogram division in the board meeting. Raozan Upazila Juba League president Jamir Uddin Parvez has worked as a corona fighter during corona period.
He has also performed his performance with a national award in recognition of various social works and tree planting from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for consequetive three times. Apart from the poura area, he distributed relief, financial assistance, vegetables, fish and other food items among several lakh people in 14 unions of the upazila.
With his initiatives , an abandoned hospital was renovated with own cash fund and set up a 50-bed isolation center to provide treatment to the corona patients. oxygen cylinder supplied to the patients’ homes and transported critically ill patients by ambulance to the isolation center. In the upazila where people have died in Corona, the volunteer team formed under his supervision and with the help of volunteers has buried more than a hundred men and women .
During Ramadan, under the patronage of Faraj Karim Chowdhury, Parvez delivered Seheri food to different hospitals of Chattogram metropolis for 30 nights for people of different classes and professions including doctors, nurses, health workers and on duty police.
He has already provided financial helps and semi pucca houses to 21 families of disabled and hapless under the banner of Fazle Karim Foundation. . Engaged in politics and social service since his student life , Parvez said, “I was always beside the people at every critical juncture of the party and the country.
“ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP, the architect of modern Raozan, has inspired me in this work, he added. Finally Parvez said ‘ I am very much happy over nomination for Raozan Mayor Post and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Chairman of the Parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Railway ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP for his nomination as Mayoral candidate .
