Dr Md Zakir Hossain, who is currently serving as the Supreme Court’s Acting Registrar General and the Appellate Division’s Registrar, has been appointed its (SC) Registrar General.
The Law Ministry made the appointment as per desire of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, said a gazette notification of the Ministry on Sunday.
The notification, signed by Ministry’s Deputy Secretary Md Mahbuber Rahman Sarker, was published on Ministry’s website saying Zakir Hossain will continue to hold this position until further order.
Zakir Hossain, was appointed the SC’s Acting Registrar General on October 17 last year two days after the SC brought major changes in its administration by transferring 10 key officials, including its Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam.
Earlier, he was appointed Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on June 15 in 2015.
He joined Bangladesh Judicial Service on December 20 in 1989 through 8th Bangladesh Civil Service examination. He was promoted as a District Judge on March 4 in 2014.
He obtained PhD degree last year in the faculty of Law of University of Dhaka.
