A youth was allegedly stabbed to death by some unknown criminals over a dispute centering a cricket match at Khilgaon in Dhaka on Friday night.
The deceased has been recognized as Alamin, 18, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Barishal district.
Alamin went to a local fair in the afternoon where the assailants attacked him with a sharp knife.
He was seriously injured and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.
Victim’s grandmother Amena Begum said that Alamin used to live with her at Nandipara refugee camp and his parents live in their village in Barishal district.
Mashiur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khilgaon Police Station told the media that the murder might have linked to a cricket match.
