A young man was gunned down by a gang of unidentified miscreants in the city’s Rampura area on Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Mintoo Mia, 27, resident of the area, police said.
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rampura Police Station said that a gang of miscreants shot Mintoo Mia on the TV Center Road, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the evening, the police official said.
The matter is under investigation, the OC said.
Sentu Dash, Assistant Sub-Inspector of the DMCH police camp, said that the body had been kept in the hospital morgue.
