UNB, Satkhira :
A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members at Boikari border point in Sadar upazila early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ayub Ali, 35, son of Shamser Ali of Boikari village.
Locals said, the BSF troops from Gazipur camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi people, including Ayub, when he along with his other associates was returning with cattle from India through the border point at about 3:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
The associates of Ayub, however, escaped from the BSF firing.
Later, the body was taken to Bangladesh territory with the help of his associates.
Contacted, Major Ahsan Habib, operation officer of BGB battalion-32 said they heard about the incident and were trying to look into the matter.
