A youth was killed following an altercation over a disputed land at Sabujpara village in Jaldhaka upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain,30, son of late Khajrat Ali.
Police said when one Jahedul Islam of the village went to a disputed land to curt bamboo his rival Rafiqul obstructed him claiming the land as their own, leading to an altercation between them.
As Alamgir came forward to stop the altercation Rafiqul got furious and hit him with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.
