A youth was stabbed to death by his younger brother at South Paikpara in the capital on Wednesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Mohiuddin, 24, son of Abdul Haq, succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after his younger brother Hazrat Ali (18) reportedly stabbed him around 4:15pm at their house, said Inspector Mozzamel Haque, In-Charge of the DMCH Police Outpost.
Quoting the relatives of the victim, Mirpur Model Police Station’s Sub-Inspector (SI) Imanur Rahman said that Mohiuddin slapped his younger brother over a theft allegation against Hazrat in the morning of the day.
He said that Hazrat stabbed Mohiuddin with a sharp weapon when he was sleeping in the afternoon.
The police official said that Mohiuddin had died under treatment in the DMCH on Wednesday night.
The body was sent to the morgue of the DMCH for autopsy and police arrested Hazrat in this connection, he added.
