Halishahor thana police arrested a youth with 20 counterfeit notes of TK 1000 denomination from Hatkhali Petrol Pump area under Halishahor thana in the city at 10 am on Wednesday.
The arrested person was identified as Bidhan Chandra Devnath, 23, hailed from Halishahor area in the city.
Sayed Abu Mohammad Shahjahan Kabir, Officer in Charge of Halishahor thana said a team of Halishahor thana police arrested Bidhan while he was trying to exchange the counterfeit notes in a tea stall in front of Hatkhali petrol pump under Halishahor thana in the city and seized notes from his possession around 10 am.
A case was filed with Halishahor thana in this connection.
