Police have arrested a youth along with bombs for allegedly threatening to blow up a Prime Bank branch office at Chandna in Gazipur.
Getting information, Members of Counter Terrorism Unit of Dhaka rushed to the spot and disposed two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) seized from him.
The incident occurred at Shapla Mansion of Chandona intersection area under Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) on Wednesday (September 16).
Md Ahsan Habib, Assistant Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), confirmed the matter.
The detainee was identified as Md Abu Bakar Siddque, 30. He is son of one late Sekandar Ali of Bimari ghat area under Morelganj Police Station in Bagerhat.
He used to live at a rented house at Bottola area of Board Bazar under GCC.
