Youth held for vandalizing idol in Barishal

A youth was handed over to police for vandalising an idol of Radha-Krishna at a Hindu temple in Rangasree village under Bakerganj upazila of the district on early Sunday.
Abul Kalam, officer in charge of Bakerganj police station, said local people caught the accused identified as Sagar Fakir, 26 son of Akram Fakir of Ragosree village red handed during vandalising idol of `Radha Krishna’ idol and some musical instruments on early Sunday.
They detaining Sagar handed over him to police and later police producing the arrestee before the court sent to jail.
Anowar Hossain, additional superintendent of Barishal district police, visiting the area on Sunday noon talked with the locals said Police already started investigation about the incident.
Samir Kumar Dey, priest of the temple, as complainant lodged a case in this connection with Bakerganj police station.
In the case the complainant alleged that said, the Radha-Krishna temple of the area was locked and the youth breaking the lock entered inside the temple vandalised the idol of Radha-Krishna and some musical items of the temple.
Local people hearing the sound of breaking items rushed to the spot and detaining the accused red handed over him to police, the priest added.
