Youth held for posting cartoons on PM sent to juvenile center

The youth held at Kazirhut police station under Mehendiganj upazila of Barisal for posting cartoons of PM in social media on Friday, ordered to send juvenile correction center at Jessore.
The accused on Sunday sent to Jessore Juvenile Development Center, police and court sources said.
The accused was Sohag Bhuiya, 15, son of Anis Bhuiya, of Kadirabad village under Mehendiganj upazila of Barisal and student of class VII at local school.
Shawkat Anwar, Kazirhat police station OC, said: “Locals detained Sohag for posting cartoons of the PM on different social media platforms, including Facebook.
“Being informed, the police picked him up on Friday afternoon. In primary interrogation, the accused admitted his offence”, the OC told.
Then local village police as complainant lodged a case against Sohag under sections 57(2) of ICT act of 2006 (amended in 2013) on early Saturday.
The accused produced before the judicial magistrate court at Barisal on Saturday noon.
Tarun Bachhar, magistrate of the court, after hearing on Saturday evening ordered to send the accused to the juvenile development center at Jessore, said Md. Moslehuddin, court inspector.
