An youth stabbed his mother, younger brother and aunt to death as they refused to pay him money to buy drug at Sonapadma village in Bera upazila of Pabna district early Wednesday.
The deceased are Buly Khatun, 48, wife of Mithu Sheikh, her son Tushar, 10, and elder sister Mariam Khatun alias Nosimon, 50, reports our district correspondent quoting Ashish Bin Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Bera circle).
Suspected killer Tuhin, 22, went into hiding soon after the incident, the police official said.
Tuhin attacked them with a machete around 4:00am when they were asleep in their house, the police official said quoting Tuhin’s wife Runa Akhter.
“Tuhin’s wife Runa Akter claimed her husband as mentally deranged, being interrogated by Police,” Ashish said.
Police sent the bodies to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Mozaffar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bera Model Police Station, said, murderer Tuhin killed dead his mother, brother and aunt at 4:ooam with a sharp weapon and fled away. Local people also said, Tuhin was a professional drug addict.
