A youth was hacked to death by rivals over previous enmity at Paschim Bahara village of Muksudpur upazila of the district on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Mahbub Mollah, 30, son of Seken Mollah of the village.
Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Muksudpur Police Station, said some miscreants swooped on Mahbub over previous enmity in the area around 8:30pm and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Later, locals rescued him and rushed to Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead around 9:15pm, the OC added.
