A mobile court on Saturday sentenced a young man to six months’ jail for teasing a schoolgirl sexually at Halidakanda village in Dharmapasha upazila.
The convict was identified as Cornel Miah, 22, a resident of the village.
Sub-inspector of Dharmapasha Police Station Rubel Miah said Cornel used to tease the schoolgirl on her way to and from school every day.
The victim’s father submitted a written complaint to the police station at about 3:30pm.
Following the complaint, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Cornel at about 4:30 pm.
Later, the law enforcers produced him before the mobile court, led by executive magistrate Mohammad Nazmul Haque, which sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.
