A court in Chittagong convicted a youth lover named Md. Selim with 15 years imprisonment under three sections of Penal code for alleged stabbing his lover in the wedding function .
The court at the same timefined hi m with Tk.11 thousand as penalty in default to suffer more one month’s jail. Chief Metropolitan Magistsrate of Chittagong Moshiur Rahman chowdhury announced this punishment to Md. Selim on Sunday.
Deputy police commissioner (Prosecution) confisrmed the matter to this reporter yesterday. Court sources said convict Md.Selim stabbed bride Dr. Kazi Asma at wedding dais in King Of Chittagong community centre under Panchalaish claiming himself as lover of the bride Azma and the bride seriously injured. Police instantly caught him redhanded from the community centre.
The stabbing incident occurred on Februray 11, 2014 , court sources said. Later brother of the bride Kazi Md. Ashik Aman lodged a stabbing case before the panchalaish thana . After hearing sthe depositions of the witnesses and arguments of the counsels of the accused and govt side, court announced this verdict, sources said.
