A young man suffered injuries in a fire that erupted allegedly while making bombs in the city’s Uttar Badda area early Thursday.
The injured was identified as M Kajal Hossain, 27, son of Sadek Ali of Uttar Bhatarpara village in
Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district. Kajal, who claimed himself as a garment worker, used to live at a house owned by Hasan at Satarkul in Uttar Badda.
Quoting Kajal, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp Inspector Mozammel Haque said house owner Hasan and his nephew Sagar went to his room around 12:30am and gave him gunpowder asking him to make a mixture out of it. Kajal sustained injuries to his mouth and hands as a fire broke out while making the blend, the Inspector added.
On information, a team of Rapid Action Battalion-1 rushed in, detained Kajal and took him to a local hospital. Later, he was shifted to the DMCH around 4:45pm as his condition did not improve.
However, Hasan and Sagar went into hiding after the incident.
