A youth was beaten to death suspecting dacoits at Samitirhat area under Fatichari upazila of the district in the early hours yesterday.
Police recovered the dead body aged between 24 from a roadside of the said area.
The identities of the victim could not be known immediately. Police said, a group of dacoits entered into a house at Nichintopur area of Samitirhat and log clash with the inmates, hearing hue and cry, locals chased the youth and caught him.
