A young man named Lafu Shaikh (30), son of one Mohsin Shaikh of village Bhaga under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district who was hacked by some alleged miscreants in his residence at Saturday night succumbed to his injuries in Khulna Medical College Hospital on Sunday morning while he was undergoing treatment.
It is learnt from the family source and the locals that at the night the ill-fated young man was sleeping in his residence, situated just behind BRAC Office and at about 1 am his mother Nilufa Begum woke up on hearing groaning and tried to locate the place where from the sound is coming. At last she found, the door of her son’s bedroom is opened, his blood stained body is lying on the floor (under his cot), hands and legs were tied with ropes and injuries were found on the body and head. Then she cried out.
On hearing it some neighbours rushed to the spot, recovered him in precarious condition and sent him to Rampal Upazila Health Complex for his treatment. Later he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he expired on Sunday morning at about 11 am while he was under going treatment. Shaikh Lutfor Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Rampal PS admitted the fact and told, neither any case was lodged with the PS nor any body was arrested so far in connection with the incident.
