Young generation urged for building ‘Sonar Bangla’

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Friday urged the young generation to build “Sonar Bangla” as dreamt by Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“We are committed to materialising the unfinished tasks of Bangabandhu defeating the conspiracies of anti-liberation and undemocratic forces,” she told the inaugural function of a painting competition at the National Museum in the city.
Hasumonir Pathshala organised the painting competition on the occasion of 71st birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Director General of the National Museum Md Maksudur Rahman Patwary and Chairman of Film and Television Department Zunaid Ahmed Halim, among others, addressed the function with President of Hasumonir Pathshala Marufa Aktar Popy in the chair.Dr Shirin said Bangladesh is marching towards achievement of the eligibility to graduate to a developing country from the Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
Under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh would be turned into a developing nation by 2024 and developed country by 2041, she added.
The Speaker said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working tirelessly to build a poverty-free, happy and prosperous country through utilizing potentiality of all development aspects of the country. “Bangladesh has been lauded globally for remarkable advancement of womenfolk as the government has taken many milestone initiatives for empowerment of women,” she added.
