Premier Division Cricket League: Yeasin’s 8-wicket flatten Abahani

Medium pacer Yeasin Arafat grabbed a record eight-wicket haul in list-A cricket as defending champions Gazi Group Cricketers registered an overwhelming eight-wicket victory over Abahani Limited in the 10th round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on Wednesday.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 114-run set by Abahani Limited, Gazi Group hardly had to sweat as they easily reached home for the loss of two wickets with 121 balls to spare.
Skipper Jahurul Islam (52 n.o) and Farhad Alam (39 n.o) led Gazi towards the facile victory sharing an unbeaten 87-run for the third wicket stand, after Gazi lost two wickets early in the start of the innings.
Mashrafe Mortaza and Sandip Roy shared one wicket each for Abahani.
Earlier, put to bat first by Gazi Group, Abahani Limited were suffered serious bating debacle and eventually all out for 113 in 26.1 overs at Khan Shayeb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Only three Abahani’s batsmen Manan Sharma (46), Mohammad Mithun (40) and Anamul Haque (10) were able to reach the double figure.
Arafat, the wrecker in chief, caused the major damage as he grabbed his career best eight wickets haul conceding 40 run in 8.1 overs. He was the only bowler in list-A cricket to achieved the feat in the history of Bangladesh cricket.
Earlier, left arm spinner Abdur Razzak achieved the best bowling figure taking seven wickets in List-A cricket against Zimbabwe A team in Dhaka backed in 2003-04 season.
Arafat of Gazi Group was later named the player of the match for his magnificent bowling performance.
