Bollywood actress Yami Gautam took to Twitter to applaud the victory of India at the Blind Cricket World Cup 2018.
India retained Blind Cricket World Cup title after beating Pakistan by two wickets in a thrilling final played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE on Saturday. India had previously won the title in 2014 after beating the same opponents.
Yami gave a shout out to the Indian Cricket team to celebrate the proud moment. She wrote, “Huge applause for our Cricket team for winning #BlindCricketWorldCup 2018!! The Nation swells with pride with this achievement & sets new heights of inspiration for our youth ! ????????????” Yami Gautam along with her family had years ago pledged to donate their eyes to contribute to the society and touch someone’s life, who would value having vision.
The actress had first-hand understandings of the challenges faced by the visually impaired as she prepared for her role of a visually impaired Surpiya in 2017 hit Kaabil.
The Bollywood actress delivered a power packed performance in Kaabil, leaving critics and audience hailing her act.
