The World Tourism Day was observed in Sylhet on Tuesday through various programs.
District Administration has arrangesd rally and discussion meeting marking the day in Sylhet .
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Tausif Ahmed presided over and the administration of District Administration Executive Magistrate Mahbubul Islam conducted the programme. Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Mojibor Rahman attend the programme as Chief Guest.
Among others, Tourist Police Sylhet Zone Police Superintendent Abul Bashar Atiq, Sylhet Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Falah Uddin Ali Ahmad, Sylhet District Press Club President Al Azad, Sylhet Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Nushrat Azmiri Haque, Sylhet District Freedom Fighters Command Former Commander Subrata Chakraborty, Senior Health Education Officer, Civil Surgeon Office, Sujan Vanik also spoke as special guests.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Tourist Police Sylhet Zone Md Kamrul, Assistant Superintendent of Police Achabur Rahman, Assistant Director of Sylhet Fisheries Office Arif Ahmed, President of Sylhet Tourism Club Humayun Kabir Liton, Executive Member Secretary of Sylhet District Press Club Mithu Das Joy, General Secretary of Sylhet Tourism Industry Cooperative Society Limited Fakhrul Islam Mia, President of Jaflong Tourism Club Ripon Ahmed, General Secretary of Sylhet Tourist Club Mazharul Islam Sadi, Rumayet Islam, Abdul Wadud, officials of various government departments and members of various tourism clubs were also present here.
In the speech of the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Mojibor Rahman said that Sylhet tourism has immense potential. Everyday many tourists come from all over the country. But many failed to go as expected without getting proper information. So a tour map is being prepared from the district administration.
He said, the number of tourist police should be increased for the safety of tourists. Information center should be established. Business of fake products should be stopped.
Meanwhile, the District Commissioner laid emphasis on behavioral change among tourists and service providers.
BSS from Bogura reports : The World Tourism Day 2022 was observed in the town Tuesday with the theme ‘Rethinking Tourism’.
A procession was brought out on different streets in the town on the occasion this morning. A discussion was also held at the Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Deputy Commissioner Md Ziaul Haque took part in the discussion as the chief guest with additional deputy commissioner Md Masum Ali Begin the chair.
Director of District Department of Archaeology Nahid Sultana, Additional Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension Moshidul Haque, Manager, Bogura Parjatan Motel, Toihidul Haque and Education Officer Hajrot Ali spoke it, among others.
 BSS from Rajshahi adds: The World Tourism Day was observed Tuesday with the call for promoting the tourism sector by flourishing it in many areas of the region as its prospects are very bright here.
To mark the day, the district administration brought out a rally at collectorate building premises followed by a discussion at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajshahi.
Commissioner of Rajshahi Division GSM Zafarullah addressed the meeting as chief guest highlighting the significance of the day, while DC Abdul Jalil was in the chair. Superintendent of Tourist Police Matiur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rajshahi Kolyan Chowdhury, Additional Superintendent of Police Ashraful Alam, Director of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries Sadrul Islam and Manager of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Motaher Hossain also spoke on the occasion.
Commissioner Zafarullah said internal tourists can be the big source of revitalizing the tourism sector in the post-Covid-19 time. So, there is now way but to reach the Bangladesh Tourism Board activities to the marginal level.
He told the meeting that formulation work of a 20-year master plan has started for the development of the country’s tourism sector. Upon successful implementation of the plan a great achievement will come in the sector, he added.
GSM Zafarullah said an investment-friendly atmosphere is needed for successful promotion of tourism in addition to improve communication and services along with need-based infrastructural development.
