World Hospice and Palliative Care Day will be observed in the country today with the theme of “Neglected life, neglected patient”.
The day is observed globally on the second Saturday of October every year.
Palliative care delivers physical, mental, social and spiritual services to people suffering from curable and life-limiting diseases. The other name of palliative care is support care. It can mitigate the pain of cancer to a large extent.
Centre of Palliative Care and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will observe the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day to create awareness among the people.
