World Health Day observed at JU

The World Health Day was observed on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus with much enthusiasm.
To mark the day, JU Public Health and Informatics (PHI) department organised a seminar at the Senate hall of the university at 11 am on the seventh instant where JU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam addressed it as the chief guest.Addressing the function, JU VC Professor Dr Farzana Islam said the rate of various non-communicable diseases, including cancer, kidney stones and diabetes, are on the rise. “It is necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent these diseases,” she said, adding.
Presided over by Chairman of PHI Professor Ruhul Furkan Siddique, JU Treasurer Professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Dean of Law and Justice Faculty Professor Bashir Ahmed and Professor of Gono Bishwabidyalaya Dr. Anupama Azhari addressed the function as special guest.
Speakers at the function stressed on raising awareness among mass people about maintaining a healthy life.
Students and Teachers of PHI department were present at the function. Earlier, PHI department and Medical Center of the university jointly brought out a rally on the campus that ended at JU administrative buildings after parading different streets.
