World Architecture Day celebrated at PaU

World Architecture Day, established by the International Union of Architects (UIA) in 1985 was held on the first Monday in October to coincide with UN World Habitat Day. The theme for 2021, “Clean environment for a healthy world,” addresses issues involving housing, public spaces, and the environment, all in the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On this occasion, the Department of Architecture of the Primeasia Unversity (PaU) organized a well-timed discussion meeting on Monday through the online platform. Prof. Dr. Mesbah Kamal, Vice Chancellor (Acting), Primeasia University was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Distinguished Architect and Philosopher Professor Shamsul Wares was present as the guest of honor at the lecture program. On the occasion, Professor Shamsul Wares shed light on the architectural practices of Bangladesh and the present world and shared his personal experiences and views on architecture.
He discussed the positives and flaws in architecture and the root causes of environmental pollution in today’s world. Professor Shamsul Wares received Life Time Achievement Award for Architectural Education in 2009 from Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).
Keeping in mind his popularity in the field of architecture, this is intended for all architecture students on World Architecture Day, the country-renowned veteran architect was brought in by the Department of Architecture at the University of Primeasia.
The lecture program was convened and conducted by Ar. Sazzadur Rasheed, Head Architect; Department of Architecture.
The lecture program was open to all architecture students outside of the university. Several young and old architects also participated in the event. The program was also broadcast live on the official Facebook page of the Department of Architecture in Primeasia University.
