Workshop on IT awareness for female students at DU

A day workshop on ‘IT awareness for female students and their parents’ was held under the joint auspices of DUCSU, ADB and IITSEC on Friday at Dhaka University (DU) TSC auditorium. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated it as chief guest.
Presided over by Prof Dr Kazi Muheymin-Us-Sakib of DU Institute of Information Technology (IIT) the inaugural function was addressed by ADB Social Sector Specialist Ryotaro Hayashi, DU IIT Director Prof Dr Md. Shariful Islam and Science and Technology Secretary of DUCSU Md. Arif Ibne Ali as special guests.
 DU VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the female students to pursue higher education at all sectors including IT and science for sustainable development of the country. Universities should produce female graduates in large scale at IT and others sectors to meet demands of the society, he said.
Prof Dr Zerin Begum, Prof Dr Lafifa Jamal, Dr Naushin Nower, DMP DB ADC Mahmuda Afroz Lucky and ADB official Nasheeba Selim delivered lectures at different sessions of the workshop.
Fifty female students from different colleges of Dhaka, 35 students from different colleges of other districts and their parents participated at this workshop.
