A workshop titled ‘Project Enhancement of Entomological Research Capability Using Bar Coding DNA’ ended on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on Thursday. JU Zoology department in association with Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC) organised the workshop at the Wazed Miah Research Center of the campus. JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam addressed the concluding session of the workshop as the chief guest.
Dean of Biological Sciences Faculty Professor Abdul Zabbar Haolader and Programme Officer of UGE Farhadul Islam Bhuyan addressed the function as special guest, among others.
The DNA of 150 species of insects has been bar coded here while the researcher collected around 600 species of insects under this project. Teachers, researcher and students working under this project were present at the concluding session.
