Workshop on curriculum development at SUST

Business Administration Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) organized a 2-day workshop on Teaching-Learning and Curriculum Development recently. Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the workshop. Prof Md Elias Uddin Biswas, Treasurer and Prof Dr Mosaddak Ahmed Chowdhury, Dean were present as special guests while Prof Dr Muhamamd Mahboob Ali, Dhaka School of Economics and Prof Dr Abdul Awal Biswas, Director IQAC, SUST attended as resource persons. The inaugural session is presided over by Prof Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Head, Department of Business Administration. In the two days workshop Prof Muhammad Mahboob Ali presented training programme on “Curriculum Design, Assessment and Need for National Qualification Framework “.
While inaugurating Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed said, teachers have always been vital in the all round personality development of the students. In fact, a teacher is a role model influencing every facet of the student’s growth and developing their innate potentials, in addition to being a motivator, guide and friend.
Besides, the teacher of today is also responsible to enable and empower the learner to emerge as a competent youth, ready to take on the challenges of the rapidly changing world. Hence, it is imperative that the teacher should continuously upgrade his/her knowledge and methodology in order to enhance the quality of teaching. If the quality of teaching is good and the commitment of teachers is high, the standard of education is bound to rise, Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed stressed for developing SUST.
