Working group formed on UNESCO world heritage

The government has formed a working group to work for inclusion of country’s archeological sites in the world heritage list of the UNESCO.
The working group will determine Property Zone (core zone) and Buffer Zone of the archeological sites that will help those sites to be enlisted under the heritage sites, a press release said here.
The Archeological Department with the direction of Cultural Affairs Ministry formed the 10-memebr working group with archeological department director general and deputy director (administration) as convener and member secretary respectively.
The group started its formal activities for the first time at Shalban Bihar archeological site at Moynamoti in Comilla on Wednesday. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor was present at the site to observe the activities of the group.
The property zone is the core area of an archeological site where no
structure would be built without any particular cause.
The buffer zone is a marked area surrounding archeological site from where
the site will be maintained and managed. The structure that can be damaging
for the site, would not let be built at the buffer zone.
The members of the committee will visit all the archeological sites of the
country to mark the property zone and the buffer zone, the release said.
